"Well, your little buddy on your wrist say other wise. One can be dormant for a long time, but it doesnt necessarily mean its dead. Its like a volcano sure most are inactive at the moment, but they do become slightly active over time. One’s powers can never be gone forever, but be grateful you don’t have white strips in your hair one morning.." She shook her head to keep herself from rambling on again.

"Anyway, the name Tina..a lone survivor of sorts."

"Then I guess somebody was wrong then, but I wouldn’t count me as back in the game just yet."

His morpher was obviously malfunctioning, but he didn’t know enough about the technicalities of morphing or the technology involved to venture a guess as to why. He’d have to find someone more technology savvy to give it a look, but first that would mean finding someone he could trust. It would have to wait.

Trent gave the other ranger a once-over, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on her ranger team or color.

"I’m Trent."

"Charmed I’m sure. If I were you I would get that thing check. God knows what woud happened if the levels in it go over. Could end up destroying the crystal, and you as well." Tina twisted one of the purple streaks around her finger.

"Yeah, I’m just not sure where to start. I can’t exactly take it to geek squad, after all."

Trent tilted his head and squinted, a thought occurring to him. On the one hand, the Dino Gem was supposed to have been purged of the darker, more overbearing aspects of its power. On the other hand, if it was resetting, it could mean going through the entire experience of grappling with the evil in the gem again.

"But you’re probably right. I need to find someone that’s more knowledgeable about this stuff to take a look. You don’t know anyone, do you?"

Tina kinda snorted out a giggle with that Geek Squad comment, before recovering herself. “Yeah, you cant do that. And, I use to know someone, though…” In her mind, she was trying to figure out how to word is. “Though he is no-longer around.”

"Uh…what?"

Trent relaxed his posture fractionally. He was relived it wasn’t some sort of grotesque, ostentatiously themed, dna-spliced monstrosity, but he was still less than thrilled about being tailed by someone while his morpher was acting up.

"What exactly did you think you were watching?"

"That glow coming from your wrist. I didnt know there was more of you guys out there is all. But than again, I barely knew there where more out side of New York is all."  Tina walked over a little closer to get a better look, or vise versa. "And, I didnt mean to scare you, the damn trash can gave me away."

"It’s fine, I just didn’t expect to find anybody else out here. And more of what guys?" He asked, feigning ignorance. Clearly she was aware of the rangers, but he was not going to give away that he had been one. Nor was he going to reveal that there was morphinominal strangeness starting up locally.

"You know other rangers out there. I thought there where just my team from New York. Though it isnt a surprise that there is more than one group out there now." She kicked a rock that was under her heel boot lightly. "Guess you learn something new every-day."

Trent relaxed more fully, “I didn’t know there were rangers operating out of New York.” He tucked his hands into his pockets,”But just to be clear, I’m not active anymore. I don’t know what’s going on here,” He concluded, gesturing vaguely to the bracelet.

"It was supposed to have gone permanently dormant a few months ago. I only held onto it as a memento, but I guess somebody was wrong."

There was a sudden, high pitched whine. The silver cuff on Trent’s left wrist began to vibrate uncontrollably, almost like it had the day it first attached itself to his wrist. The white gem pulsed with inner light for the first time in almost six months.

"So that’s uh, interesting."

Looking afar at the ray of illuminating light, a pair of dark blue eyes stares looking on-ward from the corner of a spot that was shaded in shadows. “How weird, and interesting that is at the same time…”

The gem was definitely acting up again, Trent could feel the familiar, almost electric hum of power pulsing off of it. But that didn’t make any sense. It was supposed to have gone dormant after they’d used its power to destroy Mesogog. “Unless,” he mumbled to himself as he tried to roll his sleeve down to cover the bracelet, “Doctor O. was wrong.” Regardless of what was happening, he had to get off the street, and soon. He has absolutely no way of knowing how the gem would react to powering back up, and there were too many people around for him to take any chances. He would have to keep his head down and hope nobody noticed so that he could get somewhere safe and figure out what was going on.

"Hmm…" The girl in the shadow, merger from out of it. She decided to go after him, though she didnt want to seem that obvious, so she kept a really good distant as she kept her walking at a slow speed, though if she had lost him, she could had easily gotten up with him.

The whine was growing in both intensity and pitch, which Trent was fairly certain did not bode well. More and more he could feel the Gem’s power coming back to life—demanding attention. Fortunately, he was coming up on a relatively abandoned section of town. With no major industry or attraction, and a number of abandoned buildings, he could insulate the general public from whatever came next.

A pulse of brilliant white light, bright enough to leave his vision awash with spots, heralded an eerie Mesozoic shriek. The light touch of the metal cuff grew heavy—a surprising but familiar weight.

Assured that the gem was dormant and would remain so, he had kept the brace as a memento of his time as a ranger. The weight of the morpher on his wrist said someone had been wrong.

"Here we go again.."

Tina hid behind a empty trash bin as she looked out. “So there are more out there…” She keeled down, as the bin fell over making a loud crash. “Oh great, just freaking great. Go all sneaky mode when you are trying to be non-obvious and a trash can fails you..” She got up and put the trash can standing up once more.

The flash, and the pulse of energy that caused it subsided almost as abruptly and inexplicably as it had arisen. The morpher lingered, the only proof that the whole experience hadn’t been merely the product of the feverish, sleep deprived, over caffeinated state that oftentimes went hand-in-hand with the college lifestyle.

And suddenly there was a metallic crash from somewhere behind him. He spun around as quickly as was feasible in his current state, prepared to face whatever danger was lurking in the abandoned alleyway.

"Who’s there?" He asked before absentmindedly twisting his wrist. The morpher vanished in a puff of painful sparks, replaced with the polished cuff.

He was probably going to have to get that looked at.

Tina came out from behind the trash can with her hands up. Her hair was medium black hair, with purple streaks running through it. Her outfit was mostly black and purple with a black short black leather jacket over it with purple outlines. “Oh its just….an watcher is all.”

"Uh…what?"

Trent relaxed his posture fractionally. He was relived it wasn’t some sort of grotesque, ostentatiously themed, dna-spliced monstrosity, but he was still less than thrilled about being tailed by someone while his morpher was acting up.
